KAC Social: Wine Tasting & Educational Event

Long Shadows is the brainchild of Allen Shoup, widely recognized as one of the founding fathers of Washington wines. After twenty years at the helm of the Stimson Lane wine group (Chateau Ste. Michelle, Columbia Crest and other wineries), Allen Shoup retired to pursue a personal dream. For years he had envisioned a joint venture with highly acclaimed winemakers from different regions of the world to create some of the most luxurious wines ever crafted from Washington’s fabled viniferous grapes. Long Shadows is the result of that dream.

At the upcoming KAC wine education and tasting event, we will be sampling these Long Shadows wines. The event will be led by Mark Kieras, sommelier of Seastar Restaurant and formally of Salish Lodge Restaurant. Mark will be presenting four of the best wines that Washington has to offer, while teaching those who consider themselves wine novices how to taste and judge wine. It will be an amazing opportunity to have great wines being served by one of the most respected wine professionals in the Puget Sound area.

Tickets for the event will be $5/$10/$15 depending on level of participation. Appetizers will be provided as well.

Wines for the evening of November 5th, 2009:
  • Pedestal by Michel Rolland of Chateau Le Bon Pasteur in Pomerol of Bordeaux
  • Chester - Kidder by Gilles Nicault formally of Woodward Canyon
  • Saggi by Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari of Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute
  • Sequel by John Duval, formally of the world’s iconic Penfold’s Grange
